What happens if Biden calls for Seal Team 6 rn? Like are they on the phone? Is this a wink in the situation room type situation or a hints to your friends sitch? If power in the executive is unchecked then have at it Joe.
The big news today was not entirely unexpected. I mean, why buy a court (especially all the $$$ poured into Clarence) if it isn’t going to do as you wish. I doubt there is a good return policy for purchases justices and store credit is meaningless these days.
I, like others, expected some limited ruling on immunity for DJT and then a remand (send it back like undercooked steak) to the lower court for the heavy lifting. That was a given, right, but then they wanted to give a few more obvious nods to Mr. Tang and some notion of presumptive immunity.
Look, people don’t want a full breakdown of the 119 page opinion. I don’t need to see the ingredients of stuff at Cheesecake Factory to know it is bad for me. The majority showed ridiculous deference to their lord and savior and talk about doing things as an executive and the freedom to be bold, blah blah blah. The dissents, however, are telling. I particularly like Justice Sotamayor making a point I thought about and then expanding on it.
I joked (or did i?) about Biden calling in Seal Team 6 but Scotus Team 6 did just say that you could escape criminal liability if you are doing something within your official acts— well some might argue necessary means used in subduing a, presently, 34 count convicted felon and adjudicated sexual assaulter (rapist) who is also liable for financial crimes in defrauding the third largest state in the country to the tune of 450 MILLION dollars all while instigating an insurrection against the country and storing its nuclear secrets on the floor with some old shirts and diet coke— is an official act in protecting this “great” nation.

All is not lost, I know it is hard to keep track of all of Copper Con Don’s legal cases but there are a bit more and the court does kick SOME of the immunity stuff back to the court for clarification on if it is an official act. That being said, it will be well after the election and if he wins he will pardon himself anyway, and if he does win does it really matter? We, at least I, know my time will then be limited on this earth with the weaponization of government planned by Tangerine King and his Project 2025 bros.
This doesn’t even talk about the other absurd things the court did last week but felt the most pressing. If you really want to be depressed, feel free to read up on how the justices— especially Gorsuch who confused laughing gas and smog— decided they are the final say for ALL regulatory agencies regardless of expertise (see: smog vs laughing gas) including the EPA..FDA…etc.
Not to mention Gorsuch is a DEI Justice/Nepo Baby who is the child of a former EPA administrator under Ronald Racist Reagan before having to resign in disgrace. So cool to let this dude and his cohort decide what is best for all of us on things they know nothing about.
Hopefully brighter days are ahead. Maybe this wakes Joe Biden (nah prolly not) and Dems up— I kinda want to talk about my idea of replacing the supreme court completely and the reason I think it’s legally possible but don’t know if that sounds interesting to anyone but me.
