What a year the past two days have been.
First a little housekeeping. New year…new direction…or something like that.
I doubt you noticed but I DID change the logo for the sub…nbd but thought it would coincide with a shift in direction.
I still plan to bring the same types of stuff I have been bringing and offering my random context to things. BUT in the spirit of the name—About That Though— I thought it might be helpful in the coming weeks to do more to explain the nonsensical of the dreamsickle administration.
We know the media will fail us. They have already begun their capitulation and/or normalizing.
I want to be one of the people providing context to what is happening, what they are trying, and for things that might be unsaid…add a little “about that though”

OJ the Orangeman in his flurry of racist, sexist, terrible Executive Orders issued one order to get rid of birthright citizenship.
What is that you ask? Well let us consult the source— the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
In that language they claim is English, the 14th Amendment Section 1 allows for all people born here to be considered as…from here. A novel concept, I know.
This provision was passed as a response to—you guessed it— Slavery— and a way to enshrine that people who were born here were equal citizens under law.
WE were so naive.
But there it is…in the document they claim to love so much. And just to be a jerk— if you really read after the first comma there is a strong legal argument that the new president’s kid is no longer a citizen since his catalogue ordered spouse was here on a fake genius visa but I digress.
Can He Do That? No!
The first question many asked when they saw this was can he do that? Short answer—nah bruh. Long answer…who knows these days. Laws don’t exist and Louis D. Brandeis School of Law needs to run me back my money.
But let us pretend laws are still a thing and the supreme court is actually that…supreme. Further pretending they were not purchased by billionaire sponsors after luxury gifts and vacations.
Back to the source—
Article III Section 2 of the Constitution outlines the jurisdiction of the Supreme court, extending its authority to cases arising under the…constitution (which the 14th amendment is) and the laws of the US..etc.
Further, in the case that kinda started the whole thing, Marbury v. Madison the court specifically said—- Mr. President this is OUR JOB. Like that is literally how we got the process of judicial review, making it clear clarification of the law is their job not that of the executive or legislative branches.
BARS.
But for real.. when people want to scream about something being unconstitutional, they legit created that concept in 1803.
But What About da Baby?
No not the homophobic rapper— like literal babies. Another reason this amendment is valued is because it supports and protects actual babies. They had no say in how they got here, they just happened to be born here. They are innocent. They shouldn’t be subject to your politicization.

This Is a Stupid Stunt
There will be more. Captain tangerine is a chaos agent who is powered by racists. They want America to be white white white and making it harder to be considered American is one of the many steps in the long game of making America white again. (even though it wasn’t theirs first…)
