Context About Stuff
Thank you for taking the first step of reading this. The first sentence is the hardest I hear, but thank you was pretty easy to type.
What is this?
Good question, Terrance. For a few years I have been writing in a few publications and had the ability to add my view or context to things going on. I have worked in racial justice and I am a Black man (Spoiler Alert!!) who grew up in areas not too familiar with our plight or how the world impacts us. I don’t think ignorance of something from lack of exposure or context makes a person bad, but creates a canvas to paint with some knowledge they may not have yet (yeah that is pretty corny…)
Over time I have become decent at adding context to things going on that explain my view in ways that explain before judging. However, if you CHOOSE to be obtuse later I will judge…thems the rules.
So that brings us here, a lot of times I see things in the news or politics and people are quick to have a take. Oftentimes I find myself thinking— About that though and feel the urge to share some other perspectives on it. So that is what this is, perspective with a touch of facts and history.
What this isn’t
This is not ..well idk what it isn’t yet but we will figure that out.
What to expect (when you’re not expecting)
More of what you have seen me do in the past but with a little more freedom. I want to share weekly…or depending on the flow of news a few times a week…context and perspective on what is going on from my personal view.
Why though?
So the awkward part— money is cool and helpful. I love writing and sharing my views and whatever knowledge I have. That being said, ya boy has bills and the outlets I’ve written in— see below— have not contributed a cent in the years I’ve done this. (One pledged $250 for an election vote guide & summary but I guess that 2022 check is in the mail.)
I want to share these things with you, I want to keep doing this, but in this economy? So thanks to Bidenflation, I would love your support on a nominal amount just to keep this thing going. I promise it will be worth it.
