He Won't Shut Up About Texas

Good Thursday morning peoples.

As I am seemingly contractually required to do, this post comes to you from the airport as I await boarding. I think this is number 5 or 6 written in this fashion.

Before I head off, I wanted to take the opportunity to talk about nonsense in the dumpster fire of a country we live in and yes…we will start again with Texas.

I wrote previously about the mess in Texas:

In short— at the request of Señor Sherbet, and in an explicit hope to be racist, Texas is redrawing their electoral maps to get rid of the people Black and brown people vote for and install more fake christian white dudes.

Keep in mind, this is legally dubious because they are doing this YEARS ahead of the census which is when you do such things and more dubious that they are directly targeting the members who aren’t white (4) or weren’t sent there by white people(1).

And We OUTTTTT

To delay the proceedings, Texas democrats fled the state to the sunny shores of Chicago. Texas law requires a quorum be present in the House before any business can be conducted.

Since democrats, those nerds, often know the actual law; they knew they could slow the passage of the racist maps if they didn’t show up.

This plan was challenged by the Texas governor and AG who said they would issue arrest warrants and drag them back to Texas.

Wild that the person in charge of executing the law (governor) and the person who is the chief legal advisor to a state (AG) don’t know how laws work. But…America.

Anyway—

This plan was not going to work but it was expensive for democrats to stay in Chicago forever. And that is where GAVIN C NEWSOM , AMERICA'S FAVORITE GOVERNOR came in to help.

On the serious side— Gavin Newsom and California were basically like…okay BET and came up with a genius solution to the 5 seats Orangeman and his pals are trying to steal in Texas.

To combat the crazy Texas maps, California will now vote to adopt temporary maps that…would likely net 5 seats for democrats.

Why is it temporary? Well… democrats—again those nerds—don’t want to play the gerrymander game forever, they just want to balance out this nonsense AND California is one of those leftie states that adopted fair commissions that draw maps independently. Like everyone should…

The law in California is a trigger law, IF Texas does its maps, then California votes November 4 of that same year to adjust their maps accordingly and then revert back to the non-partisan maps and independent commission later.

Smurt.

Lock HER UP

To make this bananas story even dumber…when legislators returned to Texas, based on the assurance from California, the governor assigned police to follow them around and make sure they don’t leave again.

Word?

AND they had to sign a permission slip to move around..like they were children going on a field trip to the museum.

Again..word?

But this is where it gets worse.

State Rep. Nicole Collier was not having any of the foolishness and refused this ‘escort’ for her to exist.

Without signing…she was then locked in the chamber so she couldn’t leave.

It is almost like there should be a term to describe a white overseer locking a Black person up until they did what they want…we should invent one.

An UNBOTHERED Boss

Last night the Texas house actually passed the racist maps. Once the legislators came back into the chamber, they LOCKED THEM ALL IN until they voted in favor of electoral racism.

YOU can’t do that…

The governor in Texas was quick to hit up the national news to decry the acts in California as …illegal

LOL the audacity.

And honestly, I’ll cover this in the future…somewhere…but what California did is legally permissible whereas what Texas did is less so. Stay tuned.

A Little Levity

As we head into the weekend it is good to highlight some good too.

Now, I know he is not the first or only but he is the largest platform doing it right now. And the HE I speak of is GAVIN C NEWSOM AMERICA’S FAVORITE GOVERNOR (MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING).

In a fun turn of events…the comms team for Gavin Newsom have stopped trying to emulate Obama as most democrat comms teams have done since 2009— and is openly mocking Trump’s ridiculous childlike tweeting.

Faux News has no idea how to attack this because they keep calling it immature and juvenile but it just sounds…hollow.
