I thought about this today after seeing this lovely post from THE WHITE HOUSE:

The same White House held out as this idyllic institution representing our esteemed democracy.

Look— I am not one to police what is professional or good. That is usually rooted in white supremacy. But this… this type of posting is expected from the social media of Wendy’s, not the White House.

See— it is okay for them.

But for someone like me, to be taken seriously in school, professionally, in the world, I have to appear beyond professional. At 11 I was expected to be able to read and speak like an adult white person, lest I be assumed as ignorant and placed into remedial classes— even if I could read and write better than white counterparts. That is a real thing that happens to us. We get judged for life in elementary school.

I couldn’t have written a statement like that in 3rd grade but a government office of the presidency…cool.

What Are We Doing Here

In a time when millions of people are rightfully afraid and things could not be more confusing, what we need right now is clear communication. Clear communication and actual communication.

What is happening now is the death of decency. Our country is being led by petty little men who never really had to educate themselves. Why would they? They were handed a everything upon birth, and they never have been around people to actually make them be real people.

This is all a game to them, regardless of the lives lost in the process.

In the joint address to Congress, Sir Citrus gave the longest speech ever for that setting. He used that time to make racist jokes, smirk, and point blame on the negative aspects of the country on …Obama Hillary Biden (one person to him it seems) and take credit for anything seemingly good.

It wasn’t delivered like a speech. It was delivered like a rally to bigoted supporters, and that is what these posts have been as well.

Do people there know better? Yes.

That is the point, they want to do it because they can. It is another knife to stab into the heart of this nation.

They want us to feel broken by the deviation from the norms to which we have become accustomed.

In this type of silliness, let’s not show outrage. Just laugh at them. Make the small men feel smaller.
